As a practicing veterinarian of 27 years (16 years specializing in Holistic medicine), Dr. Pema Choepel Mallu will give you an assessment of your animal with both the Western medical and the Traditional Chinese medical perspectives. Holistic medicine looks at all aspects of you and your animal’s body, mind and spirit affecting their health. Dr. Pema will spend in depth time on the initial appointment (average 45-60 mins) to truly receive a holistic view. Follow up appointments are at least 30 minutes. Holistic medicine looks at the patient not the disease state. This makes the treatment unique and specific for each patient. The symptoms you see may only be tips of the iceberg of the underlying imbalance. Looking at the iceberg underneath the presenting complaints is how we can achieve true healing.
You will come to a setting of healing energy with a meditative outdoor environment of trees, grass, Oak Creek and a koi pond. Appointments are scheduled with little or no waiting time. Enjoy the outdoors before or after your appointment. A cool and serene waiting area is available if the weather is inclement. The consultation room is a living room environment with healing colors and a soft massage table for small dogs and cats and wood floors with vibrantly colored rugs for the larger animal’s examination. Cats are entertained with the view of birds at feeders and Hummingbirds fluttering right next to their exam table. The environment affects all our senses and inner element balance and this is important in Traditional Chinese medicine. This setting has been designed as one aspect of your and your animal’s healing journey.
Holistic medicine is a wonderful complement to Western medicine and is useful in all areas of disease patterns but is especially useful in medical conditions of a chronic nature and many conditions not well treated by Western medicine.
